Your tasks

  • Manage, lead biomarker projects and provide scientific expertise to other ongoing projects of the Biomarker group
  • Support the group leader with people and scientific management and business development
  • Actively contribute to and support collaborative initiatives and liaise with external scientists and customers
  • Train and supervise a small team of technical staff to design and execute immunoassay development, cellular and biochemical assays
  • Design, develop, implement and validate in vitro and biochemical and immuno-assays on various technology platforms including ELISA, MSD, Singulex and hTRF to evaluate efficacy, PK/PD relationship, and novel biomarkers to characterize molecules for potential therapeutic effects
  • Analyze and summarize data for presentations, reports, publications and patents
  • Participate in and contribute to cross-functional teams to support preclinical drug discovery
  • Keep up-to-date on knowledge of scientific advances and competitive activity from literature, scientific meetings and external contacts

Your qualifications

  • PhD degree in a Life Science discipline (biology, biochemistry, neuroscience or equivalent)
  • At least 5 years of experience post PhD in the field of Neurodegeneration preferably gained in a Pharma, Biotech, or a CRO setting
  • Hands-on experience in the development and validation of biomarker assays on various technology platforms, protein biochemistry methods and cell biology techniques
  • Strong understanding of target biology relevant to neurodegenerative diseases
  • Excellent interpersonal, technical and communication skills to be an effective member on cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in cellular and animal models of neurodegenerative disease would be a plus
  • Experience in project and people management across internal borders, with external industry partners or customers, a plus
