Your tasks

  • Build and manage strong and professional relationships with national, regional & local payers to ensure appropriate prioritization of access issues pertaining to care with the company's products.
  • Provide payers with necessary understanding of the company's current products and services (in line with regulations) and their respective value proposition.
  • Secure optimal reimbursement and procedure/service fees for the company's products through effective understanding of national and regional processes and systems. Inform, influence and secure attractive DRGs/tariffs/service fee payments (e.g. EBM codes, applications for reimbursement) for our products and customers.
  • Support the sales forces by providing relevant insights into the regional healthcare landscape and by playing an active role in the cross-functional team alignment and action plan development.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with healthcare policy decision makers/ stakeholders to understand the evolving environment and the position of the company's products within this.
  • Develop and implement payer partnership programs/initiatives which enhance the understanding of payers and policy makers regarding unmet medical needs of interest to the company's to inform future health policy or to enhance implementation of existing policy.
  • In-depth understand legal framework of contracting and tendering processes in Germany.
  • Draw on an extensive network of contracting partners at all major German sick funds and further develop and nurture relationships with contracting decision-makers/stakeholders.
  • Obtain national and regional level access for the company's products by developing and executing contracting strategies including negotiations with sick funds and HC providers.
  • Drive and take responsibility for tendering activities, in particular rebate contracting with sick funds for existing AGN products.
  • Seek additional contracting opportunities for the company's, e.g. integrated care contracts and other contracting models for the current and future company's assets.
  • Support the development of local commercial policies in the context of the international and European commercial framework.
  • Closely collaborate and align with the Business Units to ensure compliance with commercial policies and the execution of revenue targets.
  • Main external Contacts:
    • National reimbursement/HTA bodies and policy-makers (e.g. G-BA, IQWiG, GKV-SV, KBV),
    • Regional payers and stakeholders (regional sick funds, regional KVs, regional clinical and payer KOLs, etc.)
  • Main internal Contacts:
    • Country level: BUDs, Area Sales Managers, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Sales teams
    • International level: International Value and Access Team, Commercial Excellence Team

Your qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical access roles with proven success.
  • Life-sciences/Healthcare Management degree or similar educational background.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of healthcare structure, policy and governance across country.
  • In-depth understanding of the mechanisms and processes of contracting and tendering with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in the execution of contracting strategies.
  • Represent AGN interests and corporate behaviors: Be Bold - Build bridges, Power ideas, Act fast, Drive results;
  • Identifying opportunities and taking action to build strategic relationships between one’s area and other areas, teams, departments, units, or organizations to help achieve business goals.
  • Clearly conveying information and ideas through a variety of media, using appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods.
  • Continuous Improvement and negotiation: Effectively exploring alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain the support and acceptance of all parties.
  • Planning and Organizing: Able to plan and execute multiple complex projects and maintain relationships.
  • Self-starter who is focused on completing tasks.
  • Builds collaborative relationships and takes action to meet customer needs paying close attention to local regulations, laws and codes of conduct.
  • Identifying and understanding issues, problems and opportunities; using effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis (approx. 80%).
