Our client is a prestigious biopharmaceutical enterprise who is primarily known for his top-selling key products in multiple sclerosis.


In addition, our biopharmaceutical client is now focusing on another key product that paves its way to becoming a huge blockbuster brand and is implicated for the treatment of two severe and rare forms of juvenile epilepsy - incl. an orphan drug status.


Recently, all our client’s products have been tested in multiple clinical trials for additional indications. The next exciting endeavour of our client is to build and establish an affiliate in Germany.

Your tasks

  • Recruitment and coaching of Medical Science Liaison Manager
  • Performance management as appropriate
  • Field activity review (Veeva CRM, KPIs etc)
  • Lead National Medical activities
  • Medical Lead for country business plan
  • Responsible for ensuring all activities (scientific and promotional) comply with local laws, codes of practice, guidelines and SOPs.
  • Responsible for reviewing all medical and commercial materials according to local laws, codes of practice, guidelines and SOPs and ensures adherence. Provide recommendations of required changes for approval
  • Develop, communicate and maintain in-depth scientific knowledge and competitor products and related therapeutic areas
  • Provide accurate and timely medical advice on products to healthcare professionals with the assistance of the local MSL
  • Local expert on healthcare system and patient pathways
  • Responsible for local adaptation of training materials
  • Create and implement local strategic medical plans
  • Provide appropriate medical input to the local brand plans in close collaboration with commercial/marketing and market access
  • Develop national scientific educational programs and events for health care professionals together with the brand team
  • National medical budget responsibility
  • National lead for sponsorship and grant requests
  • High-quality national implementation of strategic medical initiatives
  • Create and implement national KOL development plans and initiate national and regional Advisory Boards as required. Assist MSLs with the planning of and execution of local ad boards.
  • Support early and late phase clinical trial activity, including management of company initiated compassionate use / named patient programs.
  • Leads and develops concept outlines for PhIV national observational, non-interventional studies and administrates EAP and compassionate use programs if applicable.
  • Ensure internal communication of local competitive medical intelligence that is collected
  • Support Market Access activities and activities carried out by the Government Affairs/market access.

Your qualification

  • Scientific or Medical university Degree
  • Several years professional experience in medical affairs and/or medical liaison management
  • Leadership experience
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle and commercialization processes with advanced understanding of other functions including Clinical Operations, Commercial, Regulatory, Pharmacovigilance and Market Access
  • Good understanding of finance/budgeting and resource management
  • Be able to use his/her clinical and scientific knowledge and experiences to provide expert input into cross functional activities, including clinical development plans and commercial brand strategies
  • Ability to anticipate and identify core problems, apply insightful analysis, and solve problems effectively
  • Possess strong organizational skills with the flexibility to deal with uncertainty and react rapidly to changing situations
  • Analytical skills and strategic thinking
  • Consistently able to continuously learn and expand medical and scientific knowledge as well as evolving market understanding   
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent negotiation skills
  • Possess high integrity, proactivity, adaptability and a strong work ethic
  • Willing to travel frequently and work flexibly across geographies
