Your tasks

This position will be responsible for both the strategic and operational sourcing for defined sub-commodities within the Packaging and Material Handling Equipment commodity.  


In addition, this position carries the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cost, quality and time oriented supply of all required equipment, components  and services for specific programs and plants in line with the expectations and financial targets of the business
  • Develop and implement commodity strategies for the defined sub-commodities
  • Design optimal supply base 
  • Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to respective sub-commodities including: cost savings, economics, supplier rationalization, working capital improvements and other key metrics
  • Lead, support and develop cost reduction initiatives with central & plant teams
  • Structuring and bundling of global and regional aspects within the Commodity organization
  • Leverage of purchases across all business units and global programs 
  • Support accurate and timely reporting of key measurables
  • Support implementation of standardized global activities
  • Guarantee compliance with BOS, PLUS, PSOS and SOX procedures

Your qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related technical field
  • Min. 3 years of purchasing or Supply Chain experience in automotive or commodity related industry
  • Excellent technical understanding 
  • In depth knowledge of the procurement process, procurement tools and practices
  • Strong contract development skills and key understanding of legal aspects preferred 
  • Ability to recognize and respond to expectations with sense of urgency
  • Ability to cooperate with people of different levels inside/ outside the company and to interact with team to reach team goals and business objectives
  • Ability to gather information, analyze data, prepare and lead negotiations as well as deliver a recommendation
  • Fluent English skills mandatory
  • Thorough SAP knowledge; very good Excel skills
  • Driving license B
