Your responsibilities

This position will be responsible for both the strategic and operational sourcing for defined sub-commodities within the supply chain commodity (Logistics Services, Warehouse Management, Premium & Express Freight).

In addition, this position carries the following responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement commodity strategies for the defined commodity
  • Meet or exceed profit plan goals related to commodities including: cost savings, economics, supplier rationalization, working capital improvements and other key metrics
  • Support implementation of regional commodity strategies
  • Lead, motivate, support and develop purchasing staff members relating to the commodity core team
  • Maintain and update cost saving roadmaps
  • Support accurate and timely reporting of key measurables
  • Support implementation of standardize global activities
  • Leverage of purchases across all business units and global programs

 

 

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related technical field
  • Several years of purchasing experience; automotive experience preferred
  • In depth knowledge of the logistics procurement process and market by mode; logistics operational experience preferred
  • In depth understanding of purchasing tools and practices
  • Strong contract development skills and key understanding of legal aspects preferred
  • Ability to recognize and respond to customer expectations with sense of urgency
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Relevant SAP knowledge
  • Up to 20% travel may be required
  • Fluent English skills mandatory
  • Strong communication skills and team spirit
  • A goal-oriented way of working with good analytical skills
